The first training seminar for SME’s in Bulgaria within the framework of the ELISA Project took place in the Bulgarian-Korean Telecenter in Sofia on the 19th and 20th of February 2007. The seminar was organized by the Bulgarian partners of the project – State Agency for IT and Communications (www.daits.government.bg) and IST Foundation (www.ist.bg). The content of the seminar was delivered by six tutors specially trained within the scope of the ELISA Project. 32 SME’s from various fields of activities and regions participated in the training. The training was divided into sessions covering topics on basic IT skills for business, introduction to e-business – principles and best practices and entrepreneurship on the Internet. The comments show that the training was very useful and e-learning can be easily adopted by SME’s. The seminar also showed that SME’s have strong interest in extending their knowledge on e-commerce towards the possibilities of entering new markets after the accession of Bulgaria in the EU and finding alternative ways to reach their customers. Detailed information, presentations, and photos from the seminar can be found in the Bulgarian version of the e-learning platform of the ELISA project: www.elisa-project.net/moodle .
